My artist statement for this project:
This style is heavily influenced by the Harajuku street style of the late 90s and early 2000s, and was popularized by fruits magazine. due to the 20 year trend cycle, there’s been an insurgence of it in the west, with brands like heaven by Marc Jacobs, sultry virgin, and Blumarine.
Renaissance Angels focuses on connecting consumers with a style that fits them best. When you open this section on the app, there is an option to take a quiz. This quiz will eventually match you up with one of the four Angels, this outcome being ‘Fluffy’,. Then after being paired, you can explore ‘Fluffy’s Picks’, a section of the store that is ‘handpicked’ to fit your personal style.
Touch comes into play with the Angels. Fluffy, Classy, Cool and Spikey. For the sake of time, Fluffy was the only one I explored stylistically, but the concept counts. Each Angel represents a certain style and texture, as textures play a key role in people’s personal style. Fluffy, represents furs and sherpas, and a more youthful and playful style. Classy represents velvets and tweeds, and a more preppy and timeless style. Cool represents more denims and silks, representing an on-the-go and effortless style. And finally Spikey represents leathers and chainmail, representing a more punk style.

A little animated version of me! I 'narrate' the quiz part of the app, so I wanted the user to feel like they were playing a game like Animal Crossing, or something of that nature.
